Sony's Tristar - GODZILLA by WinterGaia Sony's Tristar - GODZILLA by WinterGaia
GODZILLA - Size does Matter!

When Sony Tristar got the rights for a American version of Godzilla, I was happy with the news.  The one thing that always got me excited was all of the little previews and promotions that they did back in 1998.  The hype of not being able to see how Godzilla looked like was what really got me so hyped up that there were days were all I ever did was think about Godzilla.  One of my most cherish memories during these times were the Simstar VHS movies that came out during the marketing for the movies.  My mother bought an EP VHS version of King of the Monsters and I remember finally owning a real merchandise of Godzilla for a while.

The image above is base on the animated series which was also a good memories during 1998.  I remember days where I wake up just to record it on the VCR and watch it later when I had the time. (Beast Wars was also another one I enjoyed during the time) Sadly for this image, I choose to Axe Godzilla(Zilla) as I felt that Godzilla Jr(Zilla Jr) was a better figure for the 1998 series.

This art is a joint collaboration between :icondr-studios: with more to come in the future.

Godzilla, Crustaceous REX, El Gusano, Bizarre Crackler, The Giant Bat, The Chameleon, Megapede, Gigan, and Megalon are all copyrights of Toho and Sony's Tristar.

Thanks for drawing this! It feels good to know there are other people who appreciate the 90s animated Godzilla series :)

Have you though about doing some speculative art? The new Godzilla and associated beasties, Muto and "Vishnu"?

I'm rather weak on the speculative art to be honest.  I'm still trying to gather the courage to draw a Toho Kaiju drawing.  I've always been afraid to touch Godzilla as I feel like I may ruin him in my artstyle.

Yeah, I can definitely get that. Something so precious to the community must be intimidating to approach. If it comforts you at all, I have complete confidence in your ability to pull it off. But I completely understand why you choose not to.
